Inside the Sphere

Jazzy is a multi-passionate person who dedicates themselves to bridging science, storytelling, and social wellbeing. Before living in Alaska, Jazzy was an oyster reef ecologist for Florida State University’s Coastal and Marine Laboratory. They have lived all over the United States but have been calling Fairbanks home since 2024. Jazzy is currently in an interdisciplinary studies program at UAF that explores Environmental Economics and Policy, with a minor in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. The University has also recognized them as a USDA NextGen Scholar, and cohort member of the Arctic Leadership Initiative. Outside of work and studies, Jazzy is an avid snowboarder, award-winning writer and speaker, vintage fashion enthusiast, content creator, crafter, and community organizer. They co-lead the Fairbanks Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby and the Alaska Hub for Sustainable Oceans Alliance. They are enjoying their role as a Project Manager in the Economic sector and looking forward to continuing a career of service to the Interior and beyond!
